In class we explored issues of social injustice to help us think about what we meant by social justice. Below are some artifacts of that conversation:
After sharing our ideas about social justice, reflecting on the assigned readings, and participating in a read aloud (The Sheep Go on Strike), we began working on our social justice framework in small groups.
Week 5
Social Construction of Race: Thinking about trauma as a lens to examine race
We read A Wreath for Emmett Till and created a framework for analysis based on Coates' book Between the World and Me. After we shared our analysis in small groups, we created found poems to reflect the themes in the book. Below are some images from that process.
